In his role of general counsel/legislative affairs at the Missouri Chamber, AuBuchon represents thousands of Missouri businesses, while advocating pro-jobs legislation and policy in the State Capitol. He focuses on the following legislative issue areas: the environment, budget, government accountability, elections, ethics, initiative petitions, health care and legal reform.
AuBuchon brings a wealth of experience working with state legislators and policy issues in the Missouri State Capitol. Most recently, AuBuchon served as the chief of staff and general counsel to the Lieutenant Governor Peter Kinder, making AuBuchon the chief policy and legal advisor for the highest-ranking, elected Republican official in the state. He served in a leadership and advisory role within the legislature utilizing his years experience with Missouri’s budget to assist in the passage of a balanced budget and key legislation for the state.
Before serving as Lt. Gov. Kinder’s Chief of Staff, AuBuchon was the deputy commissioner and chief counsel for the State of Missouri’s Office of Administration, which is charged with all the business management functions of state government.
AuBuchon earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Westminster College and his juris doctorate from the University of Tulsa College of Law.
He resides in Jefferson City with his wife, Betsy.
